Hellooo. I am back. You are jealous of me because:

I spent a week in the gorgeous city of Montreal eating fabulous food, drinking Boreale Rousse, making eyes at francophone boys, dancing to rock (thank goodness--those Denver eurotrash techno clubs nearly killed me), going to see Hero, reading newspapers in french, SHOPPING, catching up with my lovely friend Odette and her fabulous man, and oh yeah, going to two World Cup games at le Centre Bell.

Vinny Lecavalier is so sexy. So sexy. Le Fruit Folie is the best breakfast in the world. The weather was beautiful, the bars full of pretty stylish people (Montrealers can dress. it will make you shop.) I lost about 5 pounds even though we ate and drank like pigs, just from endlessly wandering the streets of Vieux Montreal.

Oh, and when I left Montreal, I drove through Maine and then went to see the lovely
_Mary_, who took me out to see the coolest white rappers ever (except maybe the Beastie Boys), encouraged me to hit on hot bartenders, let me sleep on her couch, and took me to rad breakfast. All in one whirlwind night. You rock, lady.

After that, I headed for New Hampshire to come down from Canada, accept that I am unfortunately stuck in the U.S., see my grandmother, uncle, and wicked rad gay cousin, and eat far more Dunkin' Donuts and lobster than is healthy. However, there happens to be a pretty nice little movie theater where I saw Garden State and Wicker Park, and a very nice used bookstore which I pillaged for cheap copies of Nabokov and Mishima books.

Oh yeah, and the completely fabulous Stina entertained my sister and I with a vintage tea set and her cats and dogs and friends. Stina and Friday are sooo cute.

Next stop on the trip was Boston, or more accurately, Norwood, which included some old friends, more shopping, and my great-aunt.

We wound up with Philly, my sister and her lovable roommate, and even more movie-viewing, this time We Don't Live Here Anymore. (Will someone please give Naomi Watts a role where she smiles? Ever since Mulholland Drive she's gotten to show off one side of her skill.)

And now I'm home, and don't want to be. But that's ok. I'm working on moving. That would be made much easier if someone with Canadian citizenship would marry me.
