I may have an unhealthy obsession with hockey, but there's a lot to be learned from guys like this. From the little guy who made good, and then great, the class veteran who never won it all but never quit, the top draft pick who had to overcome his ego and his best friend who managed to outshine him, the guys who have been there and done it and shown the others how it's done, and the kids who weren't afraid to try different things. Tampa may not have ice, but it's got one hell of a hockey team, and I was lucky enough to get to go to a game down there and meet some fans who love their team as much as anyone in Canada. People from Calgary may have flown to Tampa, but people from Tampa went there, too.

Credit, too, to the Calgary Flames, who made it to the end on one skate and heart.

It's just a sport, I know. But there are sports fans, and hockey fans. Those of us who love this game know there's nothing else quite like it, that as exciting as a Super Bowl may be, there's nothing quite like Lord Stanley's cup.
