Tampa was cool. Uncle_Sebsis was way cool.

The Flames were hot, unfortunately. (no offense, Flames fans, you know I love Iggy and the Kipper, but I've got to pick a team sometime)

But six hours of watching lightning light up the night sky last night have reminded me of two things:

1. It ain't over till the fat lady sings, and there's a lot of fat people in Florida.

2. This is a good, YOUNG Tampa Bay team that absolutely deserves to be where they are. They are not the Mighty Ducks, swept along by a magical goalie. Likewise, this is a good, YOUNG Calgary Flames team that also absolutely deserves to be where they are. Neither one has gotten the respect they deserve, and it's a damn shame, especially under the looming shadow of salary-cap talks, that people are still obsessed with Big Name players. Guess what, people. I've got a couple of names for you to remember in the next five years of NHL hockey:

Martin St. Louis.
Vincent Lecavalier.
Brad Richards.
Miikka Kiprusoff.
Jarome Iginla.
Robyn Regehr.
