Why do I immediately start to enjoy myself in Denver when I've decided to leave?
Actually, though, the past few nights have also reinforced my decision. Though it's been cool and I've been hanging out with people that I should have spent time with ages ago (and they said this to me as well), I've also talked to people who are also leaving and their reasons just remind me of my reasons. Which are a hell of a lot more solid than the reasons I have to stay (ie: I like the hockey team, a few people here are cool).
Hell, I already have more long-distance friends in half the major cities in the US and a few in Canada than I have in D-town. I could move to LA, Chicago, the Bay area, Boston (of course), Philly, NYC, Atlanta, Montreal or Toronto and have as many friends ALREADY as I do after two years in Denver.
My boss gave me great news today though. I don't have to freak out about work before I leave, which is way rad. Now I can just pack, make sure I see everyone I need to see, get my hair chopped and blonded, and spend quality time in front of the TV watching Tampa and Calgary. And concentrate on getting out of Denver on time.
Tonight was fun, though. The chick from Th'ink Tank opened a seperate art gallery, tonight was the grand opening, got to chat with one of the artists, hang out with my lovely hairdresser, the equally lovely lady who did my eyebrows and the hairdresser whose station is next to Iris's (if you're in Denver, Urban Renewal is like the only place to get beautified.) Also caught up with Alice from Sugar Clothing and finally met Iris's famous boyfriend. Fun times. Ended up drinking PBR and watching rockabilly chicks dance at the Skylark. PBR seems to be figuring heavily into my week.
I need a consensus. Should I try and molest that boy before I leave town? Or just stay friends and keep in touch?
EDIT: Because the Tampa Bay Lightning kick ass. Highlight: watching Martin St. Louis knock Keith Primeau flat on his ass. Maybe Primeau took a bit of a dive. In any case, it's funny.
(For those of you who don't know, Marty St. Louis is about 5'7, while Keith Primeau is 6'5)
Also went yard-saleing and thrift-shopping today. Scores:
Books: Lauren Bacall autobiography, Marlene Dietrich biography, Bette Davis autobiography -all for $1.
Vinyl: Duran Duran "Rio," Johnny Cash, "Live at Fulsom Prison," David Bowie "Live" double album, and Blondie "Eat to the Beat." $15.
Clothing: unbleached white converse all-stars, vintage store, $32.
and when I got home, my Mos Def CD was in the mailbox.
Can I pull off this hair?

I want ice cream and a date for tonight, but I think I'll settle for going to see a bunch of bands at the Larimer with Kim. Rock'n'roll, babies.
