i know i'm not in missouri anymore when the weatherman has to announce that it's sleeting, then define what sleet is, much to the amazement ot the other people watching the tv.
this is the worst weather portland has seen in 7 years, from what i hear. i made the foolhardy mistake of driving home last night, as it was still just packed down snow. as soon as i got outside, the sleet started, making a nice slick sheen of ice over every surface. thankfully i got home okay and managed to peel out against the snow and cram myself against what appeared to be a legal curb.
every business is portland is closed. it's a snow week.
except mine. we can't close. yesterday they offered me a cab ride to work if i called in this morning. i called in, and they advised me the cabs aren't even running anymore, so i have to catch a bus.
awesome.
and so begins day 13 of 16 in a row.
