i wonder what goes through people's brains to make them splurt out nonsensical blatherings. what precisely do they think they are gaining? who do they think they are impressing?

i recall a conversation i had with someone who i had only recently met. i was in the middle of a story which required me to utter the phrase "...now i'm an open-minded guy, so...".

then the person blurts out "ha! you think you are open minded! i know some people back home that are so open minded it will blow your mind! the stuff these people do... *shakes head* ... i mean they are reeeealy open-minded."

the poor boy might as well have been a balding four foot tall man with a lisp, shouting "incontheevable!". yes, i quoted the princess bride at this point. no, he didn't get the reference. but he still never was able to answer what he thought it meant, and i never told him what it meant.

so, the question i pose. which do you feel is more useful, knowledge or intellect? knowledge being the information base gained from experience and learning, intellect being your ability to use it. does knowledge lead to intellect, or vice versa, or at all?

or am i getting too philosophical for a site whose existence is resting on pierced nipples?

I think in this case the correct answer would be neither. The most useful trait is trickery, and having the ability to trick people into thinking you have knowledge and or intellect.
