alright, time to let a little of my immense mass of geekiness seep out through my pores.

i, for a brief while, was a theoretical astrophysics major. i still keep up on the goings-on of the exciting stuff in the field. if you ever want to get me talking for hours, bring up string theory, black holes, or space-time limitations. just ask my friend rasmus. i met him at a huge party that i was hosting at around 1am. we were still discussing the higgs boson and hawking radioactivity when the sun came up.

so, last night i discovered http://johntitor.com/ and was instantly sucked in for hours. the plotline goes as follows.

november 2000. a guy pops up on an internet messageboard claiming to be a time traveler from the year 2036. he doesn't try to sell anything or profess anything, he doesn't even care if you believe him. he sticks around and answers all questions that are asked of him for several months. then he says he's going back, and he disappears forever.

he openly discusses the principles behind his time travel device, even posting schematics and pictures. the principles are soundly based on the physics knowledge at the time, as well as some major developments that have only happened since then, in the last year.

he talks about life in the future, how they look back at us, how principles have changed, and gives advice. he tells us to read the constitution. start biking. care about your community and family. he gets asked the same questions dozens of times over the months, and keeps answering them calmly.

he predicts a few things. florida not counting in the election, extreme unrest with the electoral college process, a breakdown of centralized systems when we discover their weaknesses. like the electric grid, for instance. remember the massive several-day outage in the northwest?

is it a hoax? maybe. is it fiction? most likely. he even encourages you to think that so that you can keep an open mind when talking to him.

time to lose myself in it again.

Are you really surprised to find out that Iraq has nukes now or is that just BS to whip everyone up into accepting the next war?

I would love to see your massive Pig collection. I've only got about four of his albums, but I'm a pretty big KMFDM fan as well. I didn't know KMFDM was coming to town, but I guess it makes since that they'd be touring, since the new album comes out next week. I'm definitely up for going to see them, though. I'll hit you up for info as the date draws nearer.

I know of Lard, but I don't own the album. Although, come to think of it, that's been one of those CDs that's been on my list for a long time, but I keep forgetting to get it. Maybe I'll try to find it this weekend.

There's another WWE PPV this weekend. Want to meet up at that shitty bar and drink PBR? I'm gonna see if Seanbaby's up for it, though I already know the answer is "hell muthafuckin' yeah."
