I have good news! BlueValentine came to stay with me this weekend, and she used to do podcasts. She's said it's wicked easy for the four of us to link up. Basically we need to do a voice chat thing, and one person would do a voice capture thingy. AND the software we need for it is free!

This is going to be a long, hot summer. Today the sun set bright pink in my rear view, the heat burned off the road in front of me.

Go have a shufti at the Music Warship, run by Alyk of Celeb Warship fame. I write for it, so you know it's top-notch (it'd be top-notch even if I didn't, admittedly).

Driving down to...

I was talking to Wendy last night, and she's trying to find a way to link all four of us up for the podcast so we can review Britney Spears' new disc MST3K-style. Fuuuuuuuun!

Hopefully she'll find out if we can do it by the end of the week. Fuuuuuun!

You're expected at Coogee tomorrow. You came to the first one so you can't miss this one.

Of course, that means you almost certainly will. Because you're a no-fun cunt. This we know. But you have a chance -- one -- at redemption. Ponder that. Blake, Marni and I will be on the lookout.

Had a birthday. Thanks for the wishes. Don't like them much -- means I'm closer to 25, which is closer to 30, which is closer to 50, which is closer to 70, which is closer to either being dead or, at best, kept alive as a brain in a jar. But it is nice having a big family dinner. One of my teenage cousins gave...

Interesting change of courses!! Just be warned that a lot of journalism courses test their students like law does, in that they put horrible dull boring courses in the first year to weed out those that have a passion for it... hopefully your uni doesn't do that because I think it's stupid and frustrating in the extreme.

AND AND... are you going to come and actually meet me this weekend? Damnit!!! *hopeful look*

Wrestling while drunk was a bad idea. Ouch. Ouch. Ouch.

Saw your post to cleverthings and therefore I present to you; Iglooz.

Thank you!! smile It can happen - in fact, my original songs were often only interpreted as folk rock, and I loves me some folk rock, but I need the power of heavy music. I really like industrial as well, so I'm unlikely to wander into live performance of acoustic works...

Did you read my plan for Idol domination? IE, the plan of what song I'm going to do when and why in the process of getting to the Top 12... if I got there, that is. So so, my question remains, do you think my song choices work?

Saw Big Bobby Dylan. He was incredible. Highlights included Masters Of War, Nettie Moore and When I Paint My Masterpiece, which is one of my favourite Dylan songs. After the gig, we hit up a dodgy Chinese pub and got really inappropriately drunk for a Wednesday night.

Rory, Alex, Allan and I (the four young men pictured in my last post) went to...

Didja have a listen? Will you make it to Blink on Sat, 6 October when we play there? If you decide to go, make sure you let me know, because we have TWO-FOR-ONE passes!!! w00t!!! And we get paid based on how many 2-for-1 passes are used on the night, so just sayin' - get on it. tongue biggrin

(I LOVE Timberlake. He's such a fucking good dancer. My boyfriend hates him with a passion... he's just so good, though. SO GOOD.

Also, for Idol next year, I'm planning on auditioning, and I figure that if I get through to the semi-final stage where it's first open to the public and there's a real band, I'll sing an STP song. Particularly...)

So, being the hip hop fellow that you are, I thought I might inquire as to your opinions on Public Enemy, Cypress Hill and the Wu-Tang Clan. Pray tell?

Rode around shining while I could afford it on the weekend, with plenty ice on my neck so I wouldn't get nauseous. Also watched nearly every league game of the round (odd, as I'm not a total footballhead), drank stupid green apple and pear and sangria drinks, had a very good time with the boys.

Wore a Kangol hat, and wondered if it was appropriate...

Dude, four times! You Shins fans are really bad at actually seeing the Shins.

The band were great, even though I wasn't that familiar with the material, but it wasn't anything amazing. I think a lot of that had to do with the venue though. The atmosphere was, well pretty much non-existent, and not lending to their music at all. If you saw Thunderstruck or whatever that Aussie movie about the AC/DC fans that travel to Bon Scotts grave was called, Metros is where they shot the concert stuff at the start. It's some sort of Thunderdome like knock off that most bands struggle with.

But yeah, next time try harder! Why do you keep missing them?

I really like the first two pics you have smile

Thursday I went and saw Knocked Up with Sophia. Had a Very Good Time. Also: an incredible film. Judd Apatow, you're a real genius and you write very funny words. In other news, every time I go near Oxford St. my wallet gets at least one hundred dollars lighter. It's really not all that good.

Saturday I went and saw a Newtown Jets down at...

Sounds like you had some fun there. I can't wait to see that movie, I loved 40 Year Old Virgin so much. You will have to come and liven up my online hen's night (check friend's threads).
_elichrusos:
It's utterly surreal. In a few short days I'll be able to inform people as to what it feels like.

To be fair, I suspect that "what it feels like" will be "having one's delicate hairs ripped out by a piece of thread". I continue, undaunted.

I spent yesterday cruising around in my* fancy new Saab convertible, blasting Clipse really loudly with the bass way up, sporting my Louis V. Millionaires** to kill the glare, and getting justifiably antagonised looks from people. It was a very good time.

*Possibly not 100% owned by me.

**Possibly not actual Louis V's.

haha, ok i'll let him know. Maybe they could learn him how to do that for 40 years and still be able to speak biggrin

that is not too crazy, the dance-off was the place to be!

Had a good Saturday night with lots of mediocre sparklings, now requisite Jgermeister, and unfortunate beers. It's good to be back on Oxford St. late into the night -- the people there are so genuinely weird. Groups of Lebanese fellas starting fights with each other over who kissed which guy, a team of Very Short Men waddling and screaming obscenities, girls in pink hankerchiefs tripping...
