I'm now in Dandenong, a little mini-city outside Melbourne. It's grey and rainy, and my mum and I spent most of the day trying to sort of a wire transfer of cash which was delayed thanks to public holidays. Very exciting.
I'm staying in the doctor's residence at Dandenong hospital. I'll probably spend this week volunteering as an orderly, helping out sick folk and showing families around and so on. It'll be interesting, and it gives me something to do.
After a week I'm off to Adelaide to hang out with Sally, who I met on NYE and had a really good time with. A trip over there will also mean I can catch up with an old mate from a place I used to work. And I can meet his kid.
[Edit: I'm not going to Adelaide. Things with Sally went a bit awry. It's cool, to quote Oberst, we can still be friends].
I'm looking forward to the trip to Nepal, although things are getting more dangerous there apparently. And I'll be alone there - and Bangkok - for a week, so it'll be pretty full-on. I can't imagine things are great in Thailand, even if Bangkok is away from the coast.
What did everyone do for NYE?
