Hello! Is it me you're looking for?

Word to your Lionel. I'm driving up to Brisbane on Tuesday. I'll be there for two weeks or so, spending Christmas with my dad's side of the family and New Year's Eve, hopefully, at the Woodford Folk Festival.

(I don't really mind, as long as NYE is better than it was the last time I was in Brisbane: I drank cheap champagne and ended up watching The Deer Hunter, Platoon and Apocalypse Now).

I've been out and about more than usual. And at home more than usual too. I'm not sure how that works, but it does. Friday I had to call in sick to the ALP after getting immensely boozy in Newtown, ending up at a crazy goth party in a flat with nothing but a drum kit, an amped microphone and a fridge. The night ended as I lay on the grassy knolls at Taylor Square with ex-SG member alex_letango, drinking longnecks and clutching a piece of damp tissue to my right eye.

Thank the lord for the night time. Forget the day.
