Rode around shining while I could afford it on the weekend, with plenty ice on my neck so I wouldn't get nauseous. Also watched nearly every league game of the round (odd, as I'm not a total footballhead), drank stupid green apple and pear and sangria drinks, had a very good time with the boys.

Wore a Kangol hat, and wondered if it was appropriate...

Dude, four times! You Shins fans are really bad at actually seeing the Shins.

The band were great, even though I wasn't that familiar with the material, but it wasn't anything amazing. I think a lot of that had to do with the venue though. The atmosphere was, well pretty much non-existent, and not lending to their music at all. If you saw Thunderstruck or whatever that Aussie movie about the AC/DC fans that travel to Bon Scotts grave was called, Metros is where they shot the concert stuff at the start. It's some sort of Thunderdome like knock off that most bands struggle with.

But yeah, next time try harder! Why do you keep missing them?

I really like the first two pics you have smile

Thursday I went and saw Knocked Up with Sophia. Had a Very Good Time. Also: an incredible film. Judd Apatow, you're a real genius and you write very funny words. In other news, every time I go near Oxford St. my wallet gets at least one hundred dollars lighter. It's really not all that good.

Saturday I went and saw a Newtown Jets down at...

Sounds like you had some fun there. I can't wait to see that movie, I loved 40 Year Old Virgin so much. You will have to come and liven up my online hen's night (check friend's threads).
_elichrusos:
It's utterly surreal. In a few short days I'll be able to inform people as to what it feels like.

To be fair, I suspect that "what it feels like" will be "having one's delicate hairs ripped out by a piece of thread". I continue, undaunted.

I spent yesterday cruising around in my* fancy new Saab convertible, blasting Clipse really loudly with the bass way up, sporting my Louis V. Millionaires** to kill the glare, and getting justifiably antagonised looks from people. It was a very good time.

*Possibly not 100% owned by me.

**Possibly not actual Louis V's.

Had a good Saturday night with lots of mediocre sparklings, now requisite Jgermeister, and unfortunate beers. It's good to be back on Oxford St. late into the night -- the people there are so genuinely weird. Groups of Lebanese fellas starting fights with each other over who kissed which guy, a team of Very Short Men waddling and screaming obscenities, girls in pink hankerchiefs tripping...

Why thank you! I like the one of you in glasses, you look very contemplative.

Jesus christ, last night was silly. This morning I did that terrible thing where you wake up and you're really genuinely confused about how you got home, and what you did, and you have to check your outbox to make sure you didn't send messages you're fairly sure you did. I'm glad I've got responsible mates, because I could've started a water fight with King...

An awful lot of rugby and dirty ashtrays and Arriba Importada, tried to get minor repairs done on the Saab after I ran over a gargoyle near Kiama, saw Pan's Labyrinth (seriously beautiful), saw Bobby (couldn't believe how bad it was), avoided university, made delicious meals (I've never been more into vegetables), relaxing drives, got pretty great half-rim Johnson glasses (my corneas are apparently more...

er:
twice as much white stuff.

it seems they corrected the spelling, which makes me very happy. it was "dubl stuf" when i was growing up, now it's spelled "double stuff." way to go, nabisco!

anyway, you can make your own double stuff by taking one cookie off of 2 regular oreos and putting the 2 white parts together.

imagine the possibilities, though, when you do that with a double stuff.......

mmm.
beckyjane:
So...idea time.

Come to iowa...get new ink here--and make me yummy meals. I will feed you Oreos.

Alex has moved into Los Bex, and it's going well. We've been playing stacks of NBA 2K7, drinking cheap low-carb beer (relatively healthy, totally inoffensive and eight bucks less than the nearest competitor? Way to go, Maxim), and sporadically clearing out my old bedroom so he can move his stuff in properly (in the meantime, he's been sleeping on the couch).

The dust from moving...

Friday night (2 March) = 34B Burlesque night, according to the SGAU thread.

I'm probably not free on Saturday, but if Sunday's a goer, we could probably do a later afternoon BBQ at my place followed by poker.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
I suck at poker. Let it be known.
