I love winter and the holiday season. Love, love, love. Some of that is my birthday is in December, but regardless, it's such a nice time. I love the rain, and bundling up, and Christmas lights. I love being with my family (during a time when most of them understand that the arguments and threats and accusations can wait for another day), and seeing the way someone's face lights up when they open that gift you just knew was perfect. I love the smell of Christmas trees, and the singular beauty of a cold, crisp night where all the lights seem to sparkle. I love turkey and candy canes and hot apple cider. I especially love visiting places like Reno and Disneyland when they're done up for the holidays, it's extraordinary. I'm the kind of person who wears Santa Hats during that last week before Christmas break and I've had the Christmas lights on my AIM background for 2 years straight now.
I'm especially looking forward to Christmas this year. It seems to hold the promise of unparalleled joy, especially for a year that's been so uncharacteristically deprived of joy. I can't wait, for the weather and the lights and the goodness.
Don't ask me about New Year's though. New Year's and I aren't really on speaking terms.

Don't worry about me, I'm just being emotional. It happens a lot, apparently. Ugh.
:hugs:
I could do without the rain. Motorcycle and rain are maybe not so much of a good combination...
