So, the bad news first. My husband dropped my friend (new member thebeesknees, go welcome her) and I, downtown last night, and I decided I would just take the esstentials with me, and leave my purse in the car. It wasn't until I got back home that I realized I had forgotten one very essential, my keys. By now, the boy was asleep, and the door was locked, of course. So I called the house, and pounded on the door until my knuckles hurt, and the neighbor (we live in an apartment complex) came out and gave me a dirty look. And then I tried calling the house somemore. Unfortunately, my husband sleeps like the freaking dead. After an hour, I sat down and cried a bit. I was cold, tired, hungry and very miserable. Thank goodness that, for the first time in my life, I didn't have to pee. I have a few friends in the city who would have come and picked me up, but I had to work early this morning, and I wouldn't ask someone to pick me up at 2am and bring me back at 6:30am. I needed to be home. I didn't know what to do. I briefly considered curling up on the doorstep, except we don't have much of a doorstep, and it was getting colder by the minute. So I walked down to the corner and looked up tow truck companies in the phone book. After calling 4 places that promised cheap, fast, 24 hour service, and only getting an answering machine, I finally got ahold of somebody who gave me an ETA of an hour. No thanks. The next guy I called showed up in five minutes, and unlocked my car for $50. Because this is the kind of night it was turning into, I was only a little surprised to find that my keys were not in my purse, or eslewhere in the car. Looking on the bright side (and crying somemore), I now had a slightly less colder place to sleep than outside. And fortunately for me, I'm a pack rat, and I found 2 more jackets, a pair of shorts, a hat, a pair of socks, and a little pillow. Even with all that, I shivered through most of the night, and honestly wondered how cold it has to be for a person to die. I set my phone alarm for 7, when Peter's alarm was set for, and tried to get some sleep. I was less than successful, but I did get in the house this morning at 7, in time to take a shower and go to work. Where I have been until just about now. So, that was the miserable part of my day.

Which was balanced out by the awesome time I had at the SG burlesque show here in SF. Opening night, even. The show was awesome, and the girls were super sexy, although I can't say the the bands were of any particular enjoyment to me. But even more than all that, I was so excited to meet more people from the site, including several SGs who weren't performing. It really made my night to meet everybody. I was especially excited to meet Scylla, who was super-duper cute and sweet (omigosh, she talked to me, she really talked to me! blush ), and Olivia, who, believe it or not folks, is even more gorgeous in person (I didn't know it was possible either, but I just kept patting myself on the back for maintaining the ability to form coherent sentences...I think. I had had a few drinks. We better ask somebody else...speaking of, I think that's how I introduced myself to Scylla, aftering shouting, "I know you!", "I'm AntiPrincess, and there was a lot of vodka in those drinks." blush It just goes to show you how awesome she is that she still talked to me after that.). And I made 2 new, very cool friends, ebin and corestqueen. I'm only bummed they live so far away. And of course, I was thrilled to see all the super cool SGSF people I don't get to hang out with nearly as much as I would like. And if you've made it this far, a little explanation to people like Miffy, sixsixty and thepromdate, who I reintroduced myself to after meeting them a couple times a piece-my self-esteem is kind of wonky, and I sometimes don't think that people find me quite worth remembering. This is not a fish for compliments, or a pity party, just an honest explantion. And in my defense, this was at least the third time I'd met Tuffy, and he didn't remember me. biggrin

Thanks, but Cat Fancy won't take me. Not after my Monday journal entry, anyway.
