So, I'm back. Have been since Friday night. Don't know what I've been doing with myself since then. Oh, wait, yes I do. I've been nursing my poor arm (more about that when I get to my honeymoon entry), relaxing, visiting with friends, making my hair completely unrecognizable, and getting a job. Been trying to stay away from here in an effort to be productive. I've had mixed results. But I do have a job now, a part-time dealy nannying for 14-month old twin boys who are totally adorable. Now I just need to get me another part-time job, and I'm set.
So, yes, I did get married. And the wedding was fantabulous. Nobody is more surprised than I am that an event that involved my family went off without a hitch (practically). Everbody told me I looked beautiful, and hopefully they were only exaggerating a little. I was a little sad because I forgot to put my veil down before I walked down the aisle, but that's no biggie. And my shoes were killing me, so I stepped out of them when the pastor asked us to turn and face each other. But the ceremony was lovely, and I was able to stave off tears while I said my vows and stuff. Only thing that didn't go according to plan was my little brother, who was a junior groomsman, totally
at the end of the ceremony. Peter and I were having our "you may now kiss the bride moment," and I remember hearing a few people giggle. I was curious as to what was going on, but I was too in the moment to care. Peter and I walked down the aisle, and into the pastor's office so the witnesses could sign the marriage license, and it was only then that I found out that the reason people had laughed was that my brother yakked. I guess the excitement was just too much for him. But, to his credit, he handled himself very well, especially for a 13 year old. He didn't disrupt the proceeding or anything, which I appreciated to no end. This way it's a funny story, and not a tragic one. Next entry: the Reception.
