two and a half weeks left until finals... woo freakin' hoo... i wish that it would just come so i could get it over with. *sigh*

anyway, things are going ok i suppose. i have an open-mic performance next friday, and i don't have anything prepared yet. i would love to play some new material, but i haven't been able to get anything together. i am busy at work on two new songs, but one is only half-finished, and the other i only have a first few lines for. i have loads of guitar parts going through my head for both songs, but i'm having a tough time stringing them all together. oh, for those of you who don't know, my music isn't verse/chorus/verse/chorus/whatever: all of my songs just build and change and ebb and flow and all that whatnot. i don't like repeating things within a song if i can help it (and most of the time i don't). and i also love alternate time signatures... like the song that i'm working on currently is mainly in 7/8, but has sections in 5/8 and 6/8. hopefully i'll get it done by this weekend so that i'll have time to practice/refine. otherwise i'll just have to play a bunch of older material. *sigh* oh well...
