Obtained my temporary seller's permit for ComicCon today. The Board of Equalization representative/frustrated freelance writer who helped me launched into a woe story about his broken dreams -- and really all I could think of was that... Read More
My dad is moving out to CA for 9 months starting in Sep.
So guess what ? within a year I'm crashing on you're sofa and drinking you're wine ... playing you're many action figures and cooking for you.
Right here! Where do I fit into the equation, I wonder? What will they say about me when Im gone? Ah, the ineffability of existence.
Sorry - had a very melancholy day today. At least it's finally over.
I appreciate what you said. This break was in the works forever and just finally achieved critical mass. Life goes on, eh?
Hey, big news for me on another note: I got a call yesterday from the production manager on "Switched" (the show Babette got me on) and he wanted to let me know that the plans had changed. I thought he was unbooking me, which would suck. But no: he said, "instead of the episode shooting in Santa Rosa (NorCal), would you mind doing the one shooting in ALASKA instead?"
Would I MIND?!? Effin' brilliant! Dude, I am SO jazzed I cannot tell you! And they booked me for another episode already, although I don't know where it is. That's part of the fun, I guess.
Alright, the last day of this one beckons bright and sorta early, so off I go to sleep. I will be touching base back in SM this Tuesday and will be doing gear returns and laundry mostly during the day, but maybe we can grab a beer early that evening before I have to pack and turn in? My flight to Alaska is at 7:00 Wednesday morning in Burbank, and the car service will pick me up at 4:45 - yuck! If Tuesday doesn't work, I will be back on the 20th and will have a week and a half before I leave again (as far as I know) so we could hang out then. Let me know.
On this day of celebration the 227th anniversary of the United States of Americas Declaration of Independence, many citizens are looking back (and singer/actress Cher actually reminiscing) on the events which sculpted our great nation. Many other citizens attempt to chronicle the events which sculpted Chers face and figure.
Arguably, the most instrumental episode was the Boston Tea Party, where the Sons of Liberty dumped... Read More
hey goofball. In 60 years I'll be 85. I wonder if all the sgs will have some sort of reunion in 40 or 50 years. We'll all be wrinkly and wearing sexy clothing. lol. I'm going to have to ask you in advance to be my date to that when it happens.
Last eve saw a great burger & beers with Cineman in Santa Monica, California. It was tres casual and not at all sceney -- and exactly what I needed.
Stream of consciousness follows:
This may seem awfully callous, but as I'm reading people's rememberances of Marlon Brando, I'm getting a little -- I don't know -- confused? Most posts -- and not just here, by... Read More
Wonderful times last weekend at the Monster Bash! Saw a lot of old friends, and met some great new kats. Oddly enough, the lounge used to be a one-nighter comedy club back when I was in Open Season - and realized I'd actually played there before! A strange sense of familiarity. Sold out all of my books, so the only 1st editions that are left... Read More
Nightmare travel on Delta. The only thing that didn't happen that could have made it worse was a crash. Flight delayed 4 hours until I missed my connection. Bags lost. No flights until late tomorrow. Airline won't pay for hotel because delay was weather-related. I'm stuck in Atlanta and unhappy about it.
The con was great. Many good things. I will write a happy entry... Read More
Went to bed last night at 9:30. Woke up at 1:30 AM. Thank Jebus for TNT and their X-Files marathon.
Leaving tonight for the Monster Bash in Butler, PA -- near Pittsburgh. It's part work/part fun and I hope it'll get me out of my funk -- although I detest flying. I hate it more and more every time. And I'm flying somewhere just about... Read More
You're a great friend, just busy - like me. Enjoy your trip and I'll look forward to chatting with you soon.
P.S. If you talk to Erica tell her I said "hi", since she's gone all MIA on us. I played pool with her the other night and had a great time, but don't have her number to call and chat. Cheers!
I just wrote a romance story for some other comic anthology. Don't know what it is - only that by doing it I help somebody I don't know out of a jam. Banged it out in a day. Who knew I had it in me?
It's hard to think now. I'm all brain-fuzzed. And I'm ravenous!!! Must eat and drink Yellowtail Merlot.
Ok ok ... I know we JUST talked about how we never look at sets anymore ... but did you see todays ? HOLY MAMA it's fucking hot ... now to take a cold shower.....
T! I'm back and we need to hang, bro! What does your schedule look like the next few weeks? I want to plan a group thing (SG at large, not just FL) as well as a small cocktail deal at mi casa with my core pals, so I need to know your availability.
Glad you got the new gig. How's it going? I am trying to relax a minute and get my bearings straight again before diving back into the frenzy. I will call you soon if I don't hear from you first. Cheers!
There was one artist on my list to draw Belle Dorado, my story for Western Tales of Terror and he agreed: EricJ. I couldn't be more excited! You should start your rawking process now.
Looking forward to attending the Monster Bash in PA, which is 2 weeks away. It's a fun little convention geared towards folks who grew up loving monster movies. I'll see... Read More
