i remember the first time i realized that friends don't necessarily last forever.
it really rocked me.
i think what it comes down to is the human condition.
you gotta look out for number one because no one else is going to and if someone is making your life miserable, you have to cut them off in the name of self-preservation.
learn from the experience, move on.
family is a little different.
if i was you, i'd leave a door open but with conditions.
i gave my dad a couple opportunities to have a better relationship and he downright ignored them.
i started conversations, i even sent him letters.
initially i was bitter that he was ignoring me, but in the end, i felt ok about it because i had done what i needed to do and it created closure.
i gave him the chance, he shut me down. his bad, end of story.
i've moved on.

i almost wish i could do that... i require too much sleep. was just out with my BFF (haha...) last night... had a late dinner around 9 or so and i totally could have come home and gone to bed straight away, but no. we went to a wine bar and had two more glasses. i was so exhausted driving home i could barely keep my eyes open. then had to make myself wake up about 9 this morning to do some more work before two meetings this afternoon. ugh. i could have slept all day.
my lack of motivation and the ability to start working on stuff even made me have to go get meds... totally helps too.
and i know what you mean about forgetting to eat... i do that now with the meds. its not good. and a guy i know (well... the one i gave the b-day gift to and stuff...) eats like once every three days. not very healthy.
you silly boys... my life revolves around food and sleep! haha (and wine...)
