The first rhyming sentence are romantic way to say that this chick makes you happy and makes you forget all your heartache.
The second part is about stepping into the unknown. You use a curtain, because you don't know what's behind it. It could be nothing, or it could be the old man, like in The Wizard of Oz. The fear and trembling is just an anxiety we feel until we overcome and expose it. Afterall, the wizard was omnipotent and grandiose until a little dog exposed the old man behind the curtain.
