This is the kinda shit that is ruining the scene in Mississippi. A new club shows up in town, so all the kids flock to it to see bands at all-ages shows. This is a great thing, but in Mississippi there is an undercurrent. The kids fastly realize that their is a dress code for bands as well as showgoers. No studs, spikes, offensive shirts, cussing, bondage pants, hoodies with safety pins, etc.. Several months into the venue, the owners start booking all-Christian bands to play as "punk" shows. The flyers are punk, and make the shows look good, but when you get there...you are bombarded with christian tracts and people trying to get you to go to their church. Most of the bands are not even Christian punks. What's sad is clubs like these are spreading throughout Mississippi and are sponsored by Christian organizations or parents trying to let their children "express" themselves, but in confined environments.
Has anything like this happened in your towns, or is mississippi an enigma that might spark the end for our scenes. This has got to be the worst thing I have heard in awhile. :/

That fucking sucks. I'm in south Florida and have heard nothing of this type of thing happening. Thats a terrible way to convert people and an awesome way to piss people off.

Nothing like that has happened where I've lived. It sounds pretty fucked up! Surprised people don't get angry, and start fucking shit up! Hot cocoa , blankets, and snuggling- I'm there. BTW, I got a king size bed, and I am 5'10. I think you'd fit on something that size, since your bed is too small for you.
