I don't understand velour tracksuits. I don't. The general rule of thumb when it comes to articles of clothing that I don't understand is that it's high fashion, like with Imitation of Christ. Last year, before Jimmy Fallon wore the shirt covered in Do Not Disturb signs on the cover of Interview and before I even knew Chloe Sevigny was behind the company, I thought it was ridiculous and would fade away into memory. Seriously. The clothes they were pushing were fugly. Part of the line included torn apart Cosby sweaters. COSBY SWEATERS. But the velour track suit is ubiquitous on the University of Miami campus, and it is therefore not high fashion because I don't see a surplus of girls walking around in high fashion every day. I counted 47 girls wearing various pieces of velour tracksuits -- jackets, pants, or both. Frankly? I blame Jennifer Lopez. From now on, I'm going to blame Jennifer Lopez for all trends that I find unpleasant.
On my way home, I listened to WVUM and heard THE RAVEONETTES. It's in rotation! I will play "Attack of the Ghost Riders" on Thursday because I like that song.
Also, my computer problem is temporarily solved. This new youngish guy came over to fix my internet connection, and he admitted that Adelphia sucks and has been having some sort of problem with their lines since December. I don't know why the ten million technicians who have been here since December 23rd neglected to inform me of this, but I'm glad this new guy felt inclined to help me out. Until Adelphia solves their problems, I'm going to have to continue replacing a net card every now and then. He gave me five. I don't know how long they'll hold me over. Probably less than a week? I would switch ISPs, but there isn't anything else available in my area. I could get a service that's slower, but I'm not certain if they'd be any more reliable than Adelphia.
My journal entries are very tangential. I am aware of this.

and this: my friend john is a pretty sweet dj in the morning (well, 9am-1pm EST) on www.kexp.org, you should listen to his show, you'd like it. actually, you'd like most of the stuff on the station, and they have real-time playlists, so when you hear something sweet, you can immediately look it up
I think thursday nights is the kind of "no depression" night where you'd hear stuff like lambchop, palace (whatever), etc., and friday night is all rockabilly. Speaking of lambchop, i had the 7" for "your life as a sequel", damn good song.
