I start my radio show this Thursday. I'll be on at 11 am to 1 pm every Thursday. If any of you kids are bored enough, you can hop on over to WVUM's website, and send in wacky requests. Or, you know, they can be legitimate requests, too. You won't be able to hear your requests because Those Bastards charge royalties for every goddamn song we play. Yeah, that's nine kinds of stupid. I guess people don't like free publicity. It's not like people are going to hear one song, decide they like it, and then say, "I GUESS I DON'T HAVE TO BUY THE ALBUM BECAUSE I CAN LISTEN TO ONE SONG ON THE INTERNET." Dicksmacks.

Anyhow. I've come up with a list because if I don't, I just play Cat Power or Belle and Sebastian, and I'll wind up playing the same stuff every week. Here is my list:

I don't think the studio has MC5 frown ...but they have Tom Waits! Yay!

Anyhow, I kind of want to play Les Sans Culottes and Les Savy Fav, but I don't know how to properly pronounce either name, and I don't want to sound like a total jackass on the radio. Oh, and I don't know how to pronounce Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, either. Gorky's like Porky's? Zygotic, like... Zygotic? I can pronounce those parts. Mynci, I'm a little shaky on that. Mincy? Can someone please help? If you help me, I will love you forever, and you will have my undying gratitude. If you intentionally tell me a wrong pronounciation so I will fuck up on the air, well... Fuck all y'all.

"les sans culottes" would be something like "lay sahn (a very light, nasal n sound) coo lo". The other ones stump me, though.

I've heard exactly three of those groups, which means you're doing well, because I have weird taste.

nice list! My particular faves on it being Gorky's Zygotic Mynci (you got it right, i love the later stuff, since spanish Dance Troupe), Calexico, Superdrag (since their first EP, which i still love best), Dirty Three, Low and Death Cab. From your tastes i'm surprised you don't have more Bloodshot stuff on the list smile
