Hurricane shutters are almost completely up. The last thing to go up is the skylight thingie, and I'm scared of falling off of roofs. So I'm not doing that one. Let's hope no one dies in preparing and during the storm. And let's hope it brushes by us, like with Charley, and that it slows down by tomorrow morning. Augh.

This thing is huge. The warning is from Flagler Beach (that's not that far away from the panhandle) to the Keys. That's bad. Well, actually, I think there's a watch for the Keys and the warning goes down to Miami. That sounds right.

Crap crap crappity crap. I'm scared. Hold me.

I hope the worst that happens is some discomfort post-hurricane -- power out, so no air conditioning or electricity or anything like that. I want our house to remain intact. I can live with sweltering heat and no TV and Internet for a few days. Or weeks. We don't have a generator, but my school does. So I can just spend a lot of time there.

I'm still scared, and you're still not holding me, asshole.

If you, like I am, are not entirely sure if a deity or maker exists, do the prayer that I recite: "If there's a deity out there, and you can hear me, please keep us safe and sound. You can take our worldly possessions if you feel it's absolutely necessary because we're Doubting Thomases, but please keep the fam and the cats safe and healthy. Thank you."
