I think it's time for an update, don't you?
Here are the highlights of the past week.

SATURDAY

Sarnia Highland Games!

The evil squirrel that followed us around for a while:

My friend Alysia singing the Canadian and American national anthems to open the games:

Caber Toss demonstration:

Some of the pipe bands (I love bagpipes even though I understand why some people could hate them):

The awesome shirt Sparky got me as a souvenir:

Then I went to the gay bar in London, got drunk and got a girl's phone number. She looks like Jackie from That 70's Show. Super hot! I wish I had a picture.

SUNDAY

Recovered from my hangover and watch Sparky play a few hours of Soul Calibur II. It's a great PS2 game to vent any frustration on. Then, we had company over for beer and conversation. I expected them to stay for about an hour. They were here until one in the morning. So tired already! Go home!

MONDAY

Got woken up really early by my friend Bill for breakfast. His treat! I then was spoiled by my good friend for the rest of the day for no reason other than him being in a good mood. Not only did he buy me breakfast, but also lunch, coffee and two shirts. I was such a spoiled brat that day. Then, on top of it all my Sparky takes me out for dinner. Oh boy!

TUESDAY (TODAY)

Started my new temp job with the local college bookstore. It's all days (my weekends are free!) and a few dollars above minimum wage. So cool. All the staff is pretty laid back until the school year actually starts then it's apparently hell for a week. I'm used to it. Try working at a greenhouse during planting season (I had to take TREES out to the cars in the parking lot with ten other peopke still waiting for me in line - I can handle five pound books and bagging).

It's sad that it's only a temp job, but some of the other people there are temps from years past who were liked and asked to stay on doing odd jobs between whatever department needs them - full time during the school year, then collect unemployment during the summer. All holidays are off and paid. It's like having a government job almost. Apparently at least one person every school year is asked to stay. I hope it's me this year! Sounds pretty freaking sweet to me.

That is one spooky squirrel. skull

Thanks for the link. The journal entry does shed a lot of light on the goings-on. I think she makes a lot of fair points and does a good job of telling an important part of the story. And then I think there are other parts of the story that have to be filled in by other people. In situations like this, no one who cares enough to write down anything is going to be a wholly disinterested witness, so you have to go to a lot of sources to try figuring out something close to The Truth.

After a while, of course, the realization that all this time is probably better spent working on an actual case becomes inescapable. wink
