Well, I started my first class tonight with the Taoist Tai Chi society. Very strange and interesting for a couple of reasons:

- I think I was one of the rare people there whose hair didn't grow in a shade of grey or white naturally.
- Virtually the only physical activity where its recommended that you NOT drink water. They give us a tea break half-way in, and it's only about one mouthful of liquid that they give you. We're supposed to keep the body warm to support healthy Chi movement.
- The simpler it looks the more correctly its being done.
- NONE of the instructors gets paid. They're all volunteers. So you know that they actually give a shit about what they're doing.
- I really didn't effing care if I looked like the biggest moron in the gym as long as I got things right in the end. Usually I try to look good in front of others. I hate looking like an idiot.

I'm really glad that I actually got off my sorry ass, got out of the house, and signed up for something that takes a commitment. I just really hope I can pull through with it. It would be really nice to finish something FOR ONCE. I have "commitment issues."

No one need ask my opinion, it is free for all to share... They don't make "City Club Sucks" merchandise and clothing for no reason... wink.

Here's the Spiel. The DJ's are cool, and they play good music. The dance floor is just a huge open room, so it's very echo prone and makes the music sound like turd, unless you stand near a speaker, which helps minimally. The place is nasty and dirty. If I were to drop a $100 bill, it would stay there... It's had previous rodent problems, and roaches from what I understand, though I've been fortunate enough not to have seen them. It's very dark, and very easy to get taken advantage of.. More then once one of my Male friends has been felt up in the bathroom unexpectedly and not by a woman either... Some of the clothing is cool, but it's usually just a hot-topic catalouge. Basically just a bunch of lame ass suburbanites who have nothing better to do then dress up and go sulk in a dark corner, because they want to be different, yet they dress the same and buy all the same lame shit. Come to think of it, that's pretty much any club, but why drive to downtown detroit, and do it in a nasty dirty place, when there are probably plenty of other clubs that are way less nasty out there... Don't get me wrong, I love Industrial, Synthpop and all that, but I don't feel the need to base my entire existance around it. Maybe I'm just showing my age?

BTW the clothing was a limited run by one of the DJ's I know, as a joke biggrin.

Also, I do have a lot of friends who love the place too. Maybe I'm just insane... Yea, that's it biggrin.
