I found a sad flusspferd today. It was hiding underneath my makeup bag in the tool shed of the dungeon. It tried to doll itself up to look pretty, but I could tell it was a hippo. All the makeup in the world can't make a hippo look like a dominatrix.

I offered it a banana. It was all I had in my lunch bag. It seemed pretty hungry and ate the whole thing in one bite, and I mean the whole thing: peel and all. I wasn't sure what else to feed it. We have mints in the front lobby, but I thought twice. I was afraid she'd eat the cellophane wrappers along with the mints. So I ordered her food from the Vegan Joint. She liked it.

So now I have adopted another flusspferd. It doesn't replace the flusspferd I originally adopted--that one ran away a few months ago. There was a tip that it was seen traveling cross country, but it was only a tip. It got my hopes way up, but disappointment was all I found.

Now I'm going to take home my new flusspferd. I do hope she'll fit in my car. I think I'll have to put down the seats to make her fit. I still don't know her name. I'll just have to wait and see what her personality is like before I name her. Right now she is much too sad for me to hold a conversation with. I hope she cheers up soon.
