Trust me. You should see Al Gore's documentary "An Inconvenient Truth." If you only do one thing for me this year, please make sure that one thing is to watch this film. It is very important, in my grand opinion.

I was VERY skeptical at first before seeing this documentary. There was so much hype surrounding the film that I was expecting it to be lame. I was ready to tear this documentary apart. I tend to pick apart things, word for word, especially things that use real science to make a point. It's my job.

In the documentary, Gore's arguments are solid. The science in the film isn't too heavy, and Gore does a good job of making it come alive. If you understand that the Earth is round and that it has an atmosphere, that cars release exhaust fumes, and that 110 degrees Farenheit is hotter than 100 degrees Farenheit, than you will be able to understand this film.

Yeah, I voted for Gore back in 2000. I was actually in Washington, D.C., the day of the election. It was so exciting to be there in the middle of things. Watching "An Inconvenient Truth" has nothing to do with this. It stands on its own.

Now go rent it and watch it. Please.

Just remember anything that political is also VERY commercial. And there in lies the problem.

Last night my hubby & I watched "Fahrenheit 9/11" on telly (for some reason our local video / DVD store never got it in), & we were both RIVETED. Michael Moore is a bloody legend. Everything makes so much more SENSE to us now!

Have just come back from watching Mel Gibson's "Apocalypto" at the cinema. In 2004, I visited Chichen Itza, the ancient Mayan ruins in Mexico, & have been enthralled by the history of this incredible civilisation ever since. The movie is excellent.

Tell you what: I'll definitely make sure I see "An Inconvenient Truth" if you promise me you'll see "Apocalypto"...how does that sound? wink smile

BTW, I loved your previous blog entry on your trip to Ojai. Am eagerly anticipating Part 2 biggrin
