I spent Thanksgiving night with a group of friends. We ate a delectable veggie dinner under the stars complete with Tofurkey and some "Bam" purchased at a Seventh Day Adventist store. We played board games like Pictionary (my team won, BTW), while b&w movies depicting the dangers of a depraved lifestyle (think Reefer Madness but with syphillis and cocaine) played in the background. Near the end we danced like drunken fools. However, one thing was missing and that was our friend "C". She had mentioned that she'd try to stop over for a little bit, but there was no sign of her. "C" tends to be all over the place so I assumed she got caught up at another party or that she met some cute boi and decided to hang out with him instead. So I thought nothing of it.
Well, this morning I check her blog and I was shocked to find out that she had crashed her motorcycle earlier on Thanksgiving and was rushed to the hospital. The story goes that she plowed into a car and ended up getting thrown from her bike. The paramedics carried her away on a stretcher with a neck brace. OMG! They X-rayed her and found nothing broken; she's just badly bruised. Thank gawd for helmets! I called her to check up on her and she feels like she played a tough game of football but that she'll be alright.
As you can imagine, I am VERY thankful that "C" is going to be okay. It's such a shock to the system to find out bad news like this. So everyone, please, be extra cautious around motorcyclists and bicyclists. They are very vulnerable and someone at home would really be sad if they got hurt.

Always sucks to hear a biker go down. Glad to hear your friend "C" is OK, hopefully good as new. Be safe.
