Any suggestions for good East Coast vacations?

Well, I went on orbitz.com, expedia.com, hotwire.com and even the southwest airlines website but coast to coast travel is appearing to be above my means at the moment.

I'm thinking of maybe just heading down south for a few days, hell maybe I'll even saunter down to New Orleans alone, or pop in on family in Texas. The idea of taking an actual vacation somewhere I've never been before is interesting as well....
