Er. This is awkward. I have been working overtime for the last two months to avoid actually setting up my new apartment to feel like "home," and to avoid facing the fact that I am living as a single person for the first time in my life. The last time I lived as a single person was in New Hampshire where I went to high school so at least I new where to go in the area to have fun and I had friends around; I also had a boyfriend and when we broke up it was conveniently the right time to join my parents in KoP and start nursing school.

So. Let's just ignore the last three years in Pennsylvania. I have just moved to Reading and don't know what to do in the area. My mom suggested going to a bar to watch the baseball game tonight, but I've never gone to a bar alone before. I do not have my father's gift of gab and the ability to chat with the bartender or anyone else in sight when eating/drinking alone. Most of the friends I made in the last three years were from work. Where I work now (at the hospital) I don't want to make friendships that can devolve into drama that will make working more difficult, I want to be professional.

Hmm. Any suggestions? (other than quit whining, i already came up with that one)
