Hey All,
After lots of feedback and input over the years we have invested into upgrading + updating the livestream servers + hosting! Yay! Our awesome lead dev tech spent a lot of time rewriting code and cleaning up the back end of the site in regards to how the livestreams operate. This will make the experience more enjoyable and seamless for everyone involved.
✨ Thanks for your patience as we wanted to deliver the smoothest solution possible with the new roll out! This will improve the overall quality of streaming on the site for many years to come. For viewers streams should ideally have a higher overall quality, lagging should be minimal to none, audio should be working correctly / synced without echoing, and the chat feature should be nice where everyone can see the messages. Livestreams will not look much different from a graphic design standpoint, but for models we now have a little text outlining some of the most important rules to follow to not violate our terms of service and a link to the Model FAQ for specifics. Part of model feedback was more transparency about the rules / etiquette for livestreams so that should help us all be on the same page and avoid confusion and TOS violations. There should now be no problem for models to connect to the stream as there should be enough resources to support multiple streamers at once.
✨ All that being said livestreaming is not an exact science and it depends on what type of device, operating system, internet browser, internet connection, and software being used is up-to-date, etc. but this should be a great improvement. The use of OBS is temporarily not yet supported as the dev team is still integrating that option into livestream for the more advanced streamers, but it will come eventually. We prioritized rolling out the improvements and fine-tuning the last details like OBS along the way. For models please only have your livestream open on one screen / one device at a time for your chat to sync properly.
