attention theater people: i am looking for stories/scenarios where you were in (or directed, or stage managed, or designed) a play and there was something that happened which forced the stage manager to make a judgment call about something. it does not have to be complex or difficult...something as simple as "I was stage managing a production of Hamlet, and the director did not show up for rehearsal, and was unreachable. I had to decide whether to hold the rehearsal or not, and how to best use the time if we did go on with rehearsal".

any anecdotes out there?
