Couldn't help but pick up Don Quixote by Kathy Acker at the library today. Favorite excerpts thus far:

"To Don Quixote, having an abortion is a method of becoming a knight and saving the world. This is a vision. In English and most European societies, when a woman becomes a knight, being no longer anonymous she receives a name. She's able to have adventures and save the world."

"The receptionist, knowing that all women who're about to have abortions're crazy, assurred the woman her abortion'ld be over by nighttime. 'I, myself,' the receptionist confided, 'used to be mad. I refused to be a woman the way I was supposed to be. I travelled all over the world, looking for trouble. I prostituted myself, ran a few drugs - nothing hard - , exposed my genitalia to strange men while picking their pockets, broke-and-entered, lied to the only men I loved, told the men I didn't love the truth that I could never love them, fucked one man after another while telling each man I was being faithful to him alone, fucked men over, for, by fucking me over, they had taught me how to fuck them over. Generally, I was a bitch.'"

Also, on Thursday I go in for a tattoo. This, but in full color:

I'm getting it in the center of my back, but can't decide between the middle, framed by my scapulae, or higher up, on the top of my back. I plan to get it fairly large. Suggestions?

That sounds like a neat book. biggrin

And take pictures of your tattoo, please! It's beautiful in a black and white drawing and it's going to be awesome in color on your back. I'd say put it over on shoulderblade (for lack of symmetry's sake) or right near the base of the neck - I rather like that spot - it seems to me to be an open canvas for beautiful art. biggrin
