i just got down here about a month ago myself
from Cleveland
and first off
the weather is a whole hell of a lot better
then
everyone ive met have been really nice
there is a lot to do - great restaurants, concerts, clubs, theatre, bars, all that stuff
people seem to work just enough so that they can play down here
and i like that attitude
as for movie stuff
New Orleans is really heating up with films
i mean RAY comes out this month, and that was filmed here
and i was just in a CBS movie filmed here
and a Melanie Griffith movie is coming here
and the city signed a deal with one of the studios and unions saying there would be at least a dozen films here each year for the next couple years
its a pretty city - a little dirty and run down in spots, but everything is
for chef stuff you cant beat the food down here
im working as an editor at a magazine and we are starting to put out a Dining Guide and there is sooo much good stuff
anyway
you get the feeling

and i needed a change of pace
both Detroit and Cleveland are cities that had their prime and are struggling to stay competitive and change their image since theyre past their prime

Not sure if this helps, but I work in a low income all in one type clinic that had mental health experts too, I'm sure Detroit has a better set up than bum fuck Baltimore. We're really flexible regarding payment, at least 3/4 of our patients don't pay us at all.
For someone with no money and in need of psychiatric help, it's probably your best bet. Let me know if you need help finding a good one in Detroit, I can ask around where I work.
