I was going to post about hookers like two weeks ago...

But it's taking me a long time to gather songs for the mix that's going to go along with it. >_<

Ever get that feeling that a record came out just in the nick of time?

In Rainbows is fantastic.

It's a good kind of somber. Not enough to make you slit your wrist, but just enough to inspire.
Just enough to draw out whats sad about you and make you do something.
That inky black meets musical-to-emotional alchemy.
That rolling melody sticks to you.
Warms your bones somehow.
Gets you feeling.
Gets your writing.
It's kind of like how I felt about the Demon Days when it came out.
It was spring then, but regardless it made it a little richer.
Like there was another vibration going on.

Pardon my Pure Moods/the Secret moment.

I dunno. Bands like this, Gorillaz and Portishead... never dissapoint.
I can hear them from the inside out. Kinda pulsing and throbing just under the surface.
And either they sound the same and trustworthy or they go to that place; that new place, and convice you it's the place to be.

It's like somebody has to take you outside of yourself for you to get that fleeting, euphoric feeling that there is something greater than yourself. And although you'll never physically hear it; it kind of manifest itself through what other people think it sounds like.
Knowhatimean?
I'm really having a hard, hard time trying to explain cause I am so... in it right now.

I'm just so tired of hearing songs with words I can easily identify. Or words at all.

What else is good:
-the Virgin Suicides score by Air
(I've got that on vinyl. teehee.)
-the Somersault soundtrack by Decoder Ring

Honorable Mentions:
-the Darjeeling Limited soundtrack
-the Eternal Sunshine soundtrack
-selected Bjork - Hyperballad and Heirloom

I love your taste in music. Don't be sorry for the Pure Moods/Secret Moment...I think some of those moments can lead to great things...
