Yay! Today was a good day...
So a few weeks ago I decided I needed some new speakers, and so I went out and got a kit from a company based in Perth called The Loud Speaker Kit. Basically its a few bits of wood and some speakers, you save money by putting it together yourself, and it still sounds brilliant. I assembled them about a week ago, so they've been sitting in my room awaiting power. I got a call from the HiFi store to let me know that the amplifier i've been waiting the last 2 weeks for has arrived. I actually left work early to go and pick it up and bring it home and set it up.
After much deliberation I decided upon the first song to grace my new speakers, Little Girls Pointing & Laughing by Alexisonfire. From there I just started playing through all of my favourite songs and a bunch of different types of music to christen them. I've been really impressed with them so far. Very happy with my purchase.
If anyone is wondering how easy it is so make your own speakers.. its pretty easy! I've taken a few pictures along the way, it should give anybody a decent idea of the process. I've uploaded them all to a photobucket album.
A few specs for those in the know..
The amplifier is a Cambridge Azur 340A
The speakers are LSK F5 Mk. II
Lastly, here are some pictures of the new setup! (excuse photo quality, I don't have a digital camera.)

I *heart* my new play thing... If I'd ever worn it out in Perth I can just hear James voice making fun of me and my breasts
And yes, that last story was by the boy himself... He is an excellent writer, his lyrics are amazing as well.
How are things going with your lady friend?
