Had a swell farewell on Friday. The company bought me a huge bunch of flowers to say thank you for my contribution these past 2 years, & I had to do a speech in front of the assistant publisher, all the sales managers &, like, 50-odd colleagues eeek blush

The much-hyped "Hellraiser" party at Zeplin's on Saturday night was very disappointing (poor turn-out & mediocre music), but...

I got a watch , for twenty years.

In the two years that I worked there, I didn't see anyone (& there was a HUGE staff turnover) get so much as a farewell card, so my bunch of flowers came as quite a surprise & I actually felt pretty special.

I paid for the magazine journalism workshop in a private capacity. It's something I can really see myself getting into smile

Phew, this has been quite a hectic week!

On Wednesday after work, Lee & I went round to my new business partners' house in Parkhurst - for Lee to meet them both, & for us to discuss the budget. The meeting had been postponed from the week before due to Paul (one of the partners) being pulled over by the cops for jumping a red...

Woke up with the most awful hangover I've had in years. One too many Heinekens & shots of tequila last night at Red Room, it seems whatever Started off with a civilized dinner at a cosy neighbourhood restaurant, then moved onto the club where things rapidly progressed from bad to worse - alcohol wise, that is. The music was actually pretty good (Ashton was playing), &...

Lovely pic of your dear friend .

Heineken is one of my favorite beers. Toured the Heineken brewery in Amsterdam several years ago. Heineken is one of the largest designers and builders of breweries iin the world , and have an interesting history regarding the development of modern day beers.

This afternoon Lee & I headed out to the Lion Park (a 5 minute drive from our townhouse complex), where we had a spot of luch, played with some lion cubs & an adorable hyena pup, before driving around the game park & large enclosures. The lions (about 3 or 4 separate prides of them - all with a male at the head & almost...

Last night after work I spent 2-&-a-half hours at the rented home of my new business partners (in Parkhurst) chatting with one of the current major shareholders, Shane, more in-depth about our strategy for the launch, plus ongoing management of, the new model agency. The more I think about it, the more excited I am becoming. I just have SUCH a good gut feeling about...

is your house being built from the ground up. our house was and we took pictures of every stage. from when is was a dirt lot with tumbleweeds, to the foundation being poured, house being framed etc. i think in years to come those pictures will be fun to look at.

On Saturday Lee & I went through to Sandton City to get our cars washed & have brunch. I then went on to spent the budget of a small country blush on a truckload of high-end cosmetic products I've been needing / wanting for a while now, plus a book from Exclusive Books about adoption in South Africa, called "Thicker Than Water". After that Lee went...

Last night after work, Azzura, Cindy (a colleague of ours) & I went along to Glamour Lounge in Hurlingham Manor, to revel in their 1st birthday celebrations (demonstrations, mini-lectures, giveaways, etc). I love it when a new business is successful. Makes me feel all warm & fuzzy inside - especially when I KNOW how much blood, sweat & tears went into getting it where...

On Friday night we hired Rob Zombie's "House of 1000 Corpses" on DVD. Like Quentin Tarantino's "Dusk Till Dawn" - in my humble opinion, anyway wink - this movie started out really well, but then about halfway through it started going off on a bit of a tangent, until it just lost the plot completely. Very disappointing frown . I had expected more.

The whole of yesterday...

Last night my Lee & I went along to the annual AMASA (Advertising & Media Association of South Africa) party. Every year tickets are limited to 800 people, & we all have to take along gifts which get distributed amongst various childrens' charities - a nice Xmas initiative, I think.

This year the party was held at Taboo nightclub in Sandton (stunning venue, SHITE music...

Today I posted off my letter of resignation. We've got an overnight courier service between our Jo'burg & Cape Town branches. Although my boss will only see it on her desk on Monday (she's in the US at the moment on conference), I simply couldn't wait another day. Things have really come to a head in the office & I feel like I'm about to...
