Okay, so I'm done feeling sorry for myself. Last night Lee took me to the new Gourmet Garage at Montecasino for some hearty grub, & afterwards he even bought me a book at Exclusive Books smile Tonight we're off to The Doors to let our hair down & party like it's 1989 biggrin

was at doors on Saturday (not bad music for once!) and almost got into a fight with some creep harassing my lady friends!
would have been a good fight too...
navanod:
I have not thought of the Doors since it was still in I think New Market street in Town, now that is frikkin showing my age, back in the days when Bella's was in the brow and the White Horse ruled the suburbs, could walk down rocky street and score, I am sure you still could score there but would never give that a try, when I was young, dumb and full of cumm. Sixteen going on frikkin 50, knew everything, scared of no one, life was just one big party. Thanks needed the memory.

I am glad you are out of your slump, amazing what good food can give you.

So the magazine finally hits our Jozi shelves at 4 o' clock this afternoon. I've just read my first published feature story & I should be feeling on top of the world, right? Wrong. I feel decidedly flat. I fucking hate the way they've edited it. Especially the conclusion. My version was far more poetic & thought provoking. There's a reason we're writers & they're...

Game on, says Bullard in blog war
By Riaan Wolmarans | Johannesburg, South Africa
10 May 2007

Name and shame them, says Sunday Times writer David Bullard of the more nefarious and less intelligent citizens of the ever-expanding blogosphere -- "the sort of wackos who gun down their fellow students at university". Now an incensed blogging community is baying for his blood. In what has...

that was some good info. so most of your life your country has been at war. did it affect your day to day life or was it so remote that no one noticed?
angrboda:
As far as full-scale fighting goes, thankfully it's always been pretty remote. Although it was always in the news, therefore pretty top of mind regardless. But the level of violent crime we have to live with on a day-to-day basis now (post-Apartheid) makes many wars pale in comparison. I kid you not.
