Yesterday turned out to be a 14-hour drinking marathon (11am to 1am): 3 x beers at our friends', Warren & Yolanda's, middle daughter's 4th birthday party, followed by 2 x gin & tonics, 3 x glasses of red wine AND a whiskey before, during & after supper at our mates', Nick & Natasha's, place 
My poor, poor liver 
But last week was a particularly hectic one, so I think I deserved the indulgence...
Inbetween writing deadlines & loads of running around for the new house, I went & saw Mr Lucky for a touch-up to my Hello Kitty tattoo. While I was there he showed me several 'lomographs' he's taken on his newly acquired Holga camera. Below is a portrait of his beautiful wife, Mignon, & their youngest Husky girl...no Photoshopping whatsoever...isn't it incredible!! He also walked me around their massive Northcliff garden & explained the kind of 'water-wise' stuff Mignon & her landscape design company @hand specialise in. I totally fell in love with this gigantic succulent pot plant right outside his studio door, surrounded by these exquisite 'desert roses'...
One of my greatest accomplishments was finding a place in Midrand called Restor-a-Bath who revamp authentic Victorian cast iron baths & basins. Here are the rather sad-looking pieces I picked out from their yard, & below that is an example of what they'll end up looking like once fully restored...
This afternoon we went through to site to finalise the window & door schedule with our architect & builder. Here are some more pix of progress on the house itself...
Tomorrow I start a 3-week writing contract in Craighall Park, so I probably won't have a chance to check in here much, if at all. If any of you need to get hold of me - for whatever reason - rather do so on my cell.
Next weekend (Sat 9th + Sun 10th) we're going to spend with Lara & Mervin & their crazy Jewish mates, Michael & Jodene, at Lara's folks' 6-sleeper timeshare unit at Sun City. Lara & Merv have already planned a babysitter for their daughter on the Saturday 'cos apparently we're in for a night of seriously hardcore partying
