Yesterday afternoon, after having lunch at Clearwater Mall with an old school friend of mine who is out from Vancouver, Canada on holiday at the mo, some frickin psycho cow tried to run me over with her beat-up excuse for a car!!!!! I kid you not.
I had just paid for my parking ticket at the machine on my way out of the mall & was making my way across the open parking lot towards my MINI when I heard this car about 10 metres to the left of me (which I had noticed idling & picking up a passenger a second or two before) rev its engine before gunning straight for me at top speed
She missed me by millimetres, literally - if I hadn't tucked in my tail at the last moment, she definitely would've hit me. I was so bloody shocked, but certainly compos mentis enough to bellow "YOU STUPID FUCKING BITCH!!!!!" at the top of my lungs as I watched them hurtle off, laughing, towards the boomed exit 
Some fat, ugly, pre-menstrual asylum escapee & her dimwit of a sidekick?!?!? Who the fuck knows...
Anyway, bizarre near-death experiences aside
, I've had a very productive week. Been working flat out on the Uncaged charity fashion show (coming together nicely, it seems), but am still struggling to find a young woman of colour with a very unusual job to interview for the Marie Claire story I am working on. So far I've got these 3 entrepreneurial lasses sorted:
Tie (age 26) - tattoo artist & only plastic surgeon-trained dermatographer in South Africa
Arwen (late 20s) - corsetiere & one of only six recognised couture corsetieres in the world
Alba (age 26) - dollmaker / illustrator who's already taken Japan by storm

Design Festa 2006, Tokyo
She & her business partner, Kat, are actually in Tokyo as we speak, gearing up for the Spring leg of this year's Design Festa which is happening next Saturday & Sunday.
Looks like this weekend is gonna be another busy one for us. If you're in Jozi tomorrow, do yourself a favour & buy a copy of the Saturday Star. If things go according to plan (& I am holding thumbs that they will!), you may just find a nice naughty suprise inside
