Had a fabulous time down in Durbs this weekend past! Our mates, Sarah-Jane (Serrurier) & Derrick (Williams), tied the knot in a lovely low-key garden ceremony, with a very festive reception indoors afterwards. The weather was perfect, the venue amazing (Makaranga Garden Lodge, Kloof), & the company great. The bride & groom's first song was Lovesong, by The Cure (one of the most spine-tingling love songs ever written, in my opinion anyway) & they wore matching Lord of the Rings engraved wedding bands. We were definitely amongst kindred spirits that evening, & there was an almost palpable element of magic in the air
In amongst visiting loads of family & friends either side of the wedding, we managed to squeeze in a shopping trip to The Pavilion, a drive down to the Point Waterfront development which is coming along nicely, & two lovely lunches - one at Wilson's Wharf, the other at the KZNSA Gallery, where I also bought an original painting of a black African woman in the style of Picasso's Blue Period (my favourite of his) to add to our growing collection of work by local artists.
This is a pic of my better half (the shorter one) & his younger brother, Gary, doing their Zoolander impersonation at Lee's "tea & cake" birthday celebration. He turned 31 on 12th September. When we first got together in 1994 he was all of 18 years old, poor mite!!!!! We've shared 3 DECADES of our lives together already

This is a sneaky candid shot, taken by a mate of ours on his cellphone, of me being my usual drunken self at the wedding. [On this particular occassion I was compared to Anjelica Huston & Dita Von Teese, although it was actually Bettie Page from whom I had drawn inspiration for this outfit

And these are just a handful of snapshots I personally took at the wedding. Speaking of the Addams Family, don't you think the bride reminds you of Wednesday??

And last but not least, my better half posing with the beautiful bride, whom I've known since she was about 5 & whose mom was my favourite art teacher in primary school...Lee & I have been good mates with the groom since 1995
