Last night I got a call from Lara to tell me she was pregnant!!!!! This is SUCH exciting news, as she & Mervin have been together almost as long as Lee & I have, & they've been trying for quite some time now.
Lar is one of those rare women who actually struggles to put on weight. Not fair, I know
Anyway, with all the stress of work, she was told unless she gained a good few kilos, she probably wouldn't be able to have children. She was at management level in the retail industry for several years here in Jo'burg, & a few months ago opted for a change in pace & direction - repping / merchandising for a major cosmetics company instead. Less pay, but also less stress, & much better hours...
...And lo & behold, what with the weight of all that stress finally off her shoulders, she managed to fall pregnant almost straight away! Her first scan says she is 10 weeks along already. I just think she & Merv are going to make the most DIVINE parents, 'cos they're at a really comfortable place in their lives right now - relationship wise & financially - & they are just both such chilled people

Speaking of Yo, I'm going to be seeing her, Tarryn (pic below) & Gia tomorrow afternoon at the COCA-COLA COLAB MASSIVE MIX festival, featuring - amongst others - the awesome Metallica & Fatboy Slim.
[This is the last shoot I worked on with Angie. She died only a few weeks later.]
