One of the most incredible minds to ever ponder was that belonging to Albert Einstein, a true Renaissance man with respect and reverence for all things. His keen insights and discoveries still confound men and woman of science to this very day. His eloquence in though, action, and rhetoric personifies intuitive idealism on a whole new level of consciousness with which he openly shared with the world. When I came across his quote, The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion which stands at the cradle of true art and true science, three memories of different people from three different facets of life stirred my emotions and my mind.
First off, I would like to discuss Pablo Picasso. He was a true artist. His personal style always evolved and changed from his real life experiences. When I look into the depths of his paintings and sculptures, I find myself mesmerized by his mastery of technique and his raw interpretation of the world in which he lived. I think true art comes from a process of releasing deep-seeded emotions; whatever they may be, and when ever you look at his art, you become a part of the mystery of human experience.
Secondly, Jimmy Hendrix was so far ahead of his time I believe his music was largely unappreciated in his day. Another true artist, Jimmy paved the way on the road less traveled or ever traveled for that matter. A master of feedback, his guitar spoke mysterious surreal anthems in volumes to a generation that was turned on and open to new ideas. Its truly a shame that his life was short and his talents never had a chance to apex.
Last and certainly not least, I would have to include Bruce Lee. His philosophy of life permeated everything to which he applied himself. In his mastery of the martial arts he studied every aspect of every form of fighting. He dismissed narrow-minded tradition, unnecessary mechanics, and drew a straight line between two points, what works and what doesnt. He would always say, Learning is not enough, we must apply.
In my opinion true art and true science has always tended to rock the cradle; and what is mysterious to some is old school to others. I feel the human spirit lies dormant in most people. Even a Pablo Picasso or a Jimmy Hendrix had someone or something to inspire them, or drive them to tap into their true nature, to accomplish greatness. These few men inspire me to go beyond mediocrity, to reach deep inside and see what I am truly capable of failing at.
