Third update today, but the mood swings demand it. Lots of literary progress made today, but I was just hoping for someone to talk to, which is one of the many things this godforsaken wasteland lacks. I need to get out of here soon, if only for a weekend. Any suggestions?

When the timing's right, the prices on American Airlines are about $300, not much more than you'd pay to fly to NYC or MIA. Hotels are $25-80 a night. The islands are prettier and less spoiled than the Carribean, and the jungle is filled with Maya pyramids. It's an amazing, beautiful, affordable place, and the folks are friendly. Nothing like a cheap beach in the tropics to clear your mind...
