I guess the rest of the traveling party has updated on our grand trip, so it's my turn.
First off, I thought of a little FAQ on the long car ride home, just to clear up any misconceptions:
Q: Did you take pictures?
A: Yes
Q: Are you posting them?
A: No
Q: Why?
A: Because I consider these ladies some of my best friends, and since these are pictures of them, then it's their decision to post them. In fact, once I'm done emailing them to said ladies, I'm going to delete them from my flash card and hard drive just so they never have to worry about them again.
Q: Why are you such an asshole?
A: Hard life.
The Ladies M (Minerva, Mle, and Morgan) are some of the greatest people you could ever hope to meet, and I consider them some of the best friends that I've made in years. I can't possibly do them justice with any superlatives that I am versed with; they are just that damn cool. Seeing them happy to be together and having so much fun is the best medicine I could have ever hoped for, even though I had some personal problems during the trip.
Personal problems....that's a nice way of saying 'anxiety disorder.' It's been buried for over a year, and then it decided to come visit at the worst possible time. Fortunately my roommate and navigator knew a thing or two on the subject, so the embarrassing social distress that comes with the package was mercifully denied me. I think it may be time to seek out help on the problem again, as I hear that the meds for that sort of thing have long since improved from the days that I had Paxil pushed onto me as a wonder cure-all.
Despite all the fun and confusing emotional distress that comes with the attacks, it was still worth all the time and effort to be with my friends. I hope I can see them all again soon, and repay the kindness and hospitality that they showed this burnt out, chubby kid from the sticks. I love you guys a lot!
