Another day of accomplishments. I took Raven to the Chinese restaurant in town for a little lunch before taking her back to her mommy. She was due to embarass me in public, so when the waitress came over to take our order, Raven turns to her and says "I know one of your people's words! Gracias!"
Fortunately the waitress was very nice and understanding, and she answered questions Raven had about Chinese culture, but it was still incredibly embarassing. She's incredibly intelligent for a child her age, and I'm having trouble keeping up her; she's noticing racial and cultural differences in people faster than I can answer her questions, and this is a result. I know that if could have told her the chinese phrase for thank you earlier (she was asking about different languages during her bath) she probaly wouldn't have mixed up her words with the waitress. I'm going to have to learn more stuff just to keep her curiousity satisfied.
I finished more papers for school tonight, so the workload is halfway thinned.
Unfortunately, mental exhaustion is taking its toll. Just had a IM chat with Sorcha concerning her no longer being on my friends list. As it turns out, she never was on my friends list, and we've never spoken before; this leads me to believe that at some point yesterday, I was hallucinating the Calgary Flames on my profile page. This cannot be good. Fortunately, she's a really nice and interesting person, and we chatted a little bit about PSW and my crappy photo editing. It'll be nice to talk to her in the future.
No rest in the near future, though. Tomorrow I have to go to an Autism Awareness auction, because I need to hear both a key note speaker and a music band for my speech and music classes, respectively. Since they're supplying both these things (head of Autism awareness speaking, bluegrass band playing), I guess i'm going to be more aware of autism. The best part is that it's being held at Hillbilly Hotdogs, one of the few things I love about living here. It's a roadside weenie stand that uses decommisioned school buses as an indoor dining area, and the surrounding perimeter is packed to the gills with all sorts of campy hillbilly stuff. If you don't believe me, here's the website:
Hillbilly Hotdogs
I must warn you: it'll play their jingle when it loads, and it's.....words fail me. But it will get stuck in your head, possibly causing you to break out in song at the most awkward times. It did me.
I need some real sleep before I start confusing my SG list with my friends list; no more embarrassing mix-ups until tomorrow.
