The Quake City Shake was pretty dissapointing, a lot of the bands that I wanted to see ended up not showing up to play, and we sat around for four hours waiting for any music. Once the Merry Widows played and I got to get a drunken eyeful of their lead singer, Mis Eva Von Slut I felt like it was okay after that. It seemed that their proformance killed the likes of the first bands that played by far. If anyone's gonna play a stand-up bass, they'd better know how, or they're just up onstage looking like idiots (the first band I dunno whotherte are.)
I loved her joke- "What's the hardest part about being rockabilly?" what.. the crowd shouts... "Having to tell your parents you're gay!" That ruled.
Penny and I had a blast, and the usual freudian slip came from Penny when she said, "I love going to these shows, it's like we're not laughing at them, we're laughing at them!" (not with) Drunken and dehydrated I kept laughing hard, Penny cracks me up. She laughed at me when I spilled my beer, she laughed at me when I dropped my burger at the Palace, and she laughed when I pointed out the posturing punk girl that looked like Golum's wife-to-be. Not that I think that I'm better than everyone, I just get really evil and mean when I drink beer- and will laugh at the expense of anyone who crosses my path. Yeah- that's bad.
I did see a lot of drag queens or just some plain ugly bitches with too much makeup, a lot of really tall hair, and a lot of fashion don'ts.
I did see Michiko there, and said hello- she's HOT STUFF and more gorgeous than in photos. I met people Penny knew and drank more beer than I've ever drank in my life. eeewe.
This morning Jerme made me breakfast and I started cleaning house. I also finished making a purple velvet bedskirt and headboard in the bedroom, did laundry, cleaned the bathroom, vaccumed my studio (a ton of glitter on the floor) and I plan on starting to begin reupholstering the chaise in black and leopard print velvet.
I made a wicked chicken veggi curry while Jerme is at the gym, and hope to kick some more household cleanin' ass while I'm at it.
I'm happy to learn that the teacher's aide that I don't like is finally getting either written up or fired.
This week I did have a dissapointment too- I thought I had a truck lined up to purchase from a friend of mine- a '92 Ford Ranger in awesome condition for $2300. It was sold by her husband for $3000. Bah, others will come around. Now i gotta eeek by on what's left of the Honda.
