I'm technically American, but I've been in Canada for almost 13 years now (come April) and I feel more allignment with Canada than I ever did in the states.
Other than voting. I still voted in the US and since I'm not a Canadian citizen, I can't vote here. Maybe one day I'll change that..
That said, watching the Olympics last night and seeing Jennifer Heil ski so damn well on the moguls made me proud. And there was such a huge part of me that was broken up when she did NOT win gold. It was so, so close and this was her last olympics... so it just broke my heart.
Silver isn't anything to scoff at, but if she'd have gotten gold, it would have been the first time Canada has won gold on home soil in the 4 times the Olympics have been here...
So cheers to her doing amazing, and good job to my fellow Americans that took 1st and 3rd... but really, Jennifer, you kick ass (and she's a TOTAL cutie, too!)
