Christmas was "GREAT" - I had, and still have, FLU!

Bollocks :-(
gaylordy:
you need a personal nurse! do you at least have herbal tea and fruits at home? fresh lemons? when the flu or the sniffles get me then hot lemonade is my choice of treatment....boil a cup of water, then squeeze out one full lemon and add natural sweetener or the less good thing some sugar to it. then drink it, but be careful, not to burn your mouth wink
hope, you feel better, soon and hey, at least you had a great x-mas biggrin

kiss
ancientmariner:
lol; i was being sarcastic sweetie. Christmas was spent sleeping mostly :-) kiss

If you want the job as my personal nurse, no need to fill out an application - just come to Splott, NOW, or sooner. PLLLLLEEEEAAAASSSSSE xxx lovelovelove

I have lots of fruit here, my darling. I am a very healthy eater - not because i am clever or anything, but because it is my diet of choice. Always been a fish, fresh veg. and lots of fruit person. My eldest daughter is a vegan, so I had to learn how to cook food that she could eat as well.

Have camped out on the sofa in front room, watching old films and drinking lots of hot drinks - I have herbal teas, etc. Thanks for caring though, my darling, lovely girl. xxx

gaylordy:
what does it mean? you were drunk at work and got suspended? or how am i supposed to read it whatever
ancientmariner:
Sorry Silly; I am being very silly - I meant that I was in no fit state last night to blog, as I had had a fair few drinks AFTER work at a meal with friends and co-workers. I NEVER ever drink in work, i have far too much respect for the people I work with for that, my darling.
Thanks for your concern; just another reason to love you lots sweetie. XXXXXXXX

I am awake but suffering a hangover AND indigestion now! BUT, no work until 4th January 2011.

Three days to freedom (well, for 10 days anyway!) . . .

The downside (another!) of this FREEZING weather and being deaf is problems with the old hearing aid when wearing a wooly hat. I can choose cold ear or muffledom! GRRRR! whatever

Not good weather for people living on the street; the snow - after three or four days of regular falls - is now...

Monday's are always a pain in the arse, but when you take an hour to make a journey that usually takes 15 minutes, well . . .

More snow - deepest since 1963 (sadly, i remember it! Was living in north London then, aged 9). No sign of it going soon either - bugger.

Good news; no clients died over weekend, which is amazing considering....

omg...are you a social worker my dear? that sounds like a freaking hard job, i mean hard to take psychologically...

i hope, you kick the snow in the arse and you better be dressed daily properly and cuddly warm out there kisskisskisskiss
ancientmariner:
I am a "sociable worker", my darling! :-) xxx

Explain this please:

for two days now, the postman has - apparently - been unable to deliver mail due to the snow; but today, a little chap from the local fast food takeaway/home delivery service managed to stick a leaflet through every door in Splott!

More snow forecast - we have the worst since 1963, allegedly!

:-[) xxx
gaylordy:
i can not explain this...seems like the mailman is pussing out...or he just decided to take all the x-mas mail home and check if there is money is some envelopes wink

ancientmariner:
as long as he pays my bills too . . . biggrinblushkisslove

The UK doesn't "do" snow.

We've probably had the most snow in 20 years, and the country has ground almost to a halt - fortunately, I have a full fridge, a working heating system (thank you, god of boilers!!), and plenty of entertainment at home. Consequently, I have not been out of the front door today - back door, yes; had to feed the birds!!...

evening (or afternoon/morning/!!) my lovely ladies :-)
the casserole is in a slow cooker and smell is filling the house - i don't think I'm going to be able to sleep tonight !! eeek

One thing about snow - as I look out my window, at the rows of terraced houses surrounding me, I can see who has effective insulation in their attic and who doesn't !! biggrin biggrin biggrin

Thanks both for staying in touch - for some reason, i can't seem to access any chat room but the general one, and that is a tad chaotic for me (too many people, too much dialogue zipping through, and - sadly - a degree of hostility. Maybe they don't look old guys?)

Have a great weekend - biggest hugs to both of you x x x x
_bishop:
lol. yeah it's real, I just am that lucky confused

Great fun today; not content with hearing impaired balance problems, I now have two foot of snow to contend with as well! :-)

It's a "white out" in Splott!!
gaylordy:
i don't like snow...if it would not be so cold, i might enjoy throwing snowballs and building ice and snow sculptures, but i never liked to freeze and getting wet frown

wanna borrow my ears? wink
ancientmariner:
in truth, gorgeous, there is lots of you i could happily amuse myself with, for weeks :-) x

I'm not a fan of snow either m'dear; especially when it compacts and then freezes, which it is doing here. I have poor enough balance as it is, so "skating" along the pavement is well dodgy.

How's my favourite "SHOULD BE A SUICIDE GIRL BY NOW" person tonight? (though it is morning with you, no?)

Have a huge Dad hug for just being you (((((((((SillyK)))))))))) xx love you sweetie xx

Dilemma - wear my hearing aid in the street, and suffer from full assault of amplified and distorted noise;
don't wear it and risk getting hit my a feckin bus !! Hmmmmm . . . decisions, decisions . :-)

oh you mean you could be one of those circus people, who can stop a canon ball with their belly? like homer simpson???

i imagine this with the bus biggrin

god...crappy hearing aids... surreal but i would love to walk you over the street, your arm hooked in mine kisskisskiss
ancientmariner:
you are just about THE sweetest person I know :-)

LOL; I'm losing my hair like Homer, and - like Homer - I love my kids! (I haven't got a Bart to strangle!), but I'm not yellow (yet!) and I'm not quite as fat !!! However, I would stop a canon ball for you my darling girl.

middle of the working week; and i'm losing the will to live!

Spent all afternoon in a large meeting and struggled to hear much of what was said. Hope none of it was important! :-) I have no hearing at all in left ear, and about 20% in right - but have tinnitus as well, so there is competition for clarity of sound. It is...

My new regime starts here: am going to try and type something every day (ish!!) :-)

Just in from work - gone 9pm; was "IN" by 7:20am. Long day!! The word is knackered.

Being deaf means any meetings or dialogue requires me to concentrate extra hard, so it can be a struggle. Any sensory depravation (unless you choose it in your "games!) is difficult. Being...

Hai Dad xD I know lip reading sucks. I have some deaf and partially deaf in my family so I am very familiar with it. I am sorry you got saddled with this. Subtitles are you friend!! I am jealous of your holiday break you wrote about on my blog. You work at night? ugh I work early in the daytime and prefer it that way. Well nice to see ya around smile Take care xD
