I truly love to hate Courtney Love. I have Google alerts set up so I get the latest news of her. She is once again in the limelight. She is releasing a book that sounds like its her diaries or something (her mom released a book recently too - cashing in on her daughters fame - nice) and it sounds like she's working on an album.
I never liked her
I heard she lied about her age to Kurt and he found out by accidentally seeing her passport. Although I don't believe that Courtney killed Kurt, I do believe that if they hadn't gotten married he wouldn't be dead. Their whole relationship and the way it turned out is Shakespearian
She loves to live in the public eye - she's like the younger Madonna in that way. She was great in Larry Flynt, she's a smart woman. But I feel she has directed her life in the wrong way. By doing drugs continually and wanting fame and attention over seemingly all else she's put herself in a position where she will never be happy.
Here's what got me going this week. Courtney is doing the circuit - she was on the View and Good Morning America. She looks yucky, her face is puffy, her teeth are fake, she's thick around the middle and in these beige suits trying to play the part of a Lady. But that's me being catty.
People love asking about Frances.
Courtney tells Jane Pauley that Frances has kissed at least one boy and I think "God Courtney has a BIG mouth, it would SUCK being her teenage daughter" then she tells a story about how they went horseback riding and there were pictures on some gossip website and Frances read the comments about herself which I guess were that she was fat and then threw out all the food in her house. And then Courtney says - that's the price she has to pay for being my daughter. She's very serious, trying to chide the journalists for not being nice to her daughter.
HYPOCRITE
she's done much worse to her own daughter
she was responsible for child protective services taking Frances away - twice. that's quite a feat for CPS to take a kid away from a rich family
she's the one who courts the press and wants pictures of herself (and her daughter) everywhere
and most pointedly
she just told Jane Pauley about her daughters budding sex life

Two of my best friends dressed as Kurt and Courtney for Halloween. Funniest shit ever. THe drunker my friend got, the more she looked like COurtney. She got this shit wig from a drug store and wore a slip from a thrift store with a pair of hideous old boots, fucked up red lipstick and black liquid eyeliner that she splashed water on to make it run all over her face. It was fucking priceless.

I have to admit, I did like the first album Hole put out but if you compare that to the others, its apparent that Kurt was writing the lyrics if not the entire song. Now I just feel sorry for her, she's like Nancy Spungen but she didn't die.
