got the job! after another hr and a half interview! now i feel like a contributing member of society again! haha 
not to mention the mr. no longer has to stress out! well, not as much at least.
our A/C is finally fixed after 3 days without! before they left last night, they sprayed WD-40 on a part, left the fan running and the terrible, headache-causing, noxious fumes permeated the place and still has not completely dissipated. awesome. breathing in toxic fumes. it's so good for you! idiots. i told them this morning and they cleaned the parts that were sprayed with that crap. hel-loooooo! machine-sucks-in-air-from-outside-including-wd-40-sprayed on parts and cycles air through home!
